Forget the little black dress... there's something about the perfect sweater dress fitting like a glove that can just make your confidence soar! I'm not even gonna lie, I was completely feeling myself in this little striped number. I saw this on the rack and I was like oooh, the rust cream colors are a perfect combo.
Ladies, you know that feeling of Yazzzz when you put something on that makes you feel good? Well, that's exactly what happened when I put on this mini dress. First of all, it felt like a hug because it was holding on to me in all the right places. The sweater mini dress is a knit and had just the right amount of stretch to it, so I was totally comfortable. What's better is that this dress has a mock kneck and sleeves so it's perfect for the Fall/Winter.
Now, I decided to take it up a level and not just go with a pair of heels like I normally do. To take this look from Yazzzz to Oh Hell Yazzzz, I pulled out the knee high boots and Hot Dam! I totally leveled-up my style and transformed this look. While my tassel earring give me a little POP, the boots are actually the real accessory.
Special Moment Alert: So while I was out shooting for the blog in this dress, a young lady and her friend walked up to me. One of them says, " you look very pretty" as the other one smiled. I then quickly sized her up from her head to her toes because this was completely out of the blue. She was a brown skinned with natural locks, probably in her mid-teens, casually dressed with a camera around her neck, and.... plus size. At first I was a little thrown off because it was totally unexpected. As I responded to her and said "thank you", we smiled at each other and had a silent conversation in our thoughts. I know in my spirit that she could see herself if me. That I made her feel good about being a plus size girl. When she walked away, I had to take a moment to soak in what just happened. I say this to say, "that this is why I do what I do". There is a girl out there, and even a woman, who needs to see images of other woman that they can actually relate too. When I was growing up I didn't have that. So if I can be that person to help inspire others... then my message is being received by the universe!
